Watyanasangvararam Pattaya Banglamung

Wat Yansangwararam or known locally as Wat Yan, is a large buddhist temple and teaching centre that is popular among both local and international visitors. The temple was built back in 1976 and is one of the most significant temples in Pattaya as it is under the patronage of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX).

The temple is stretched over an approximate area of 146 acres, comprising of pagodas, pavilions and a shrine on the hilltop. Wat Yansangwararam contains buddhist relics, said to belong to lord buddha and his disciples.

Adjacent to the temple is Viharn Sien, a Chinese temple which collects religious and cultural objects such as buddha statues, hindu god images, and the replica of China’s iconic terra-cotta warriors.

The temple is great for a day out away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Please note that the basic rule of temple etiquette in Thailand is to dress modestly. Both ladies and gents are required to wear garments that fully cover the shoulders and knees.
